Who covers AustralianSuper workers — award or agreement?
AustralianSuper is the country's largest superannuation fund, with a workforce of member service and contact-centre staff, financial advisers, investment professionals, and technology and corporate staff based mainly in Melbourne. Unusually for a financial employer, it has a registered enterprise agreement.
AustralianSuper staff are covered by the fund's enterprise agreement (below), sitting above the Banking, Finance and Insurance Award 2020. The award ladder is tabled below as the floor for member service, administration and contact-centre roles; investment and professional staff sit above the award's top level on contract.

The AustralianSuper enterprise agreements
Enterprise agreements set rates above the award, with their own classification structures and allowances. Current AustralianSuper agreements in our corpus (1 in total):
- AustralianSuper Pty Ltd Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026 — approved October 2023, nominal expiry 30 June 2026.
We don't reproduce agreement dollar figures here — the agreement covering your site, state and stream is the document to read. Find your agreement, then your classification, then your pay point, and compare it with your payslip. The award tables on this page are the floor every one of these agreements must beat.
Common financial services pay issues at AustralianSuper
The patterns worth checking on a AustralianSuper payslip:
- Annualised salaries that don't cover overtime — contact-centre and branch staff regularly working past the award's ordinary span.
- Level 1–2 for experienced consultant work.
- Unpaid log-in time before shifts start and unpaid after-call work.
- Rostered Saturdays without the award or agreement loading.
What to do if your pay looks wrong
Match your payslip to your classification in the agreement (or the award tables above), and price any gap with our back-pay calculator. Raise it in writing with payroll or your manager first — most underpayments are fixed at that step. Unresolved, the Fair Work Ombudsman (13 13 94) recovers underpayments at no cost, up to six years back, and your union can run the claim for you. Not sure which instrument covers you?
