Why we exist

Australian workplace law is dense. Modern awards, the National Employment Standards, the Fair Work Act, state-level work health and safety regimes, and a stream of FWC and Federal Court decisions that quietly change the meaning of all of it. The Fair Work Ombudsman recovers hundreds of millions in underpayments every year — often from employers who genuinely didn't know the rules.

We think everyone deserves the answer for free, with the citation attached, in the time it takes to look up an Uber.

How the AI is different

The FairWork Mate advisor is not a wrapper around a general-purpose chatbot. It's a retrieval-grounded system built on a weekly-updated library of 4,226 Fair Work Commission and Federal Court decisions, 14,130 Australian enterprise agreements, the current Modern Awards, the National Employment Standards, and recent legislative reforms (Secure Jobs Better Pay 2022, Closing Loopholes 2023-24, Payday Super 2026).

Answers cite the statute section or decision they rely on, by name and year, and the advisor says so when no matching decision was found rather than inventing an Australian-sounding citation the way general-purpose models can.

Identifiers (TFN, ABN, Medicare, phone, email, address, card and bank numbers) are scrubbed in your browser and again on our server before processing — it is pattern-based, so leave names out. Run and managed from Australia; hosting detail is in our privacy policy. Anonymous chats are deleted within 24 hours; signed-in history follows your plan's window (90 days on Plus, 6 months on Pro, 12 months on business plans) and you can delete it any time.
