Who covers Monadelphous workers — award or agreement?
Monadelphous is an engineering and maintenance contractor to the resources and energy sector, building and maintaining plant on mine sites, gas projects and offshore facilities. Its workforce is largely tradespeople and technicians working on project and maintenance contracts, including FIFO and offshore rosters.
Where Monadelphous work falls under on-site construction, the Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020 is the underlying floor, though most of its workforce is covered by project-specific enterprise agreements that sit well above it — our corpus holds a large number, covering different projects and offshore contracts (listed below where one applies to your site).

On-site pay also carries the award's industry, tool, travel and site allowances, plus a 36-hour week with RDOs on most projects — project agreements restructure all of this, and sit well above the ladder.

Common construction pay issues at Monadelphous
The patterns worth checking on a Monadelphous payslip:
- Site allowances, tool and travel allowances missed from the agreement.
- RDOs and the 36-hour week not honoured on projects that use them.
- Wet-weather and inclement-weather pay withheld.
- Wrong CW level for the tickets and skills actually used.
What to do if your pay looks wrong
Match your payslip to your classification in the agreement (or the award tables above), and price any gap with our back-pay calculator. Raise it in writing with payroll or your manager first — most underpayments are fixed at that step. Unresolved, the Fair Work Ombudsman (13 13 94) recovers underpayments at no cost, up to six years back, and your union can run the claim for you. Not sure which instrument covers you?
