Your annual gross taxable income must be under $101,105.00 a year if you're single, $161,768.00 a year for a couple combined, or $202,210.00 a year for a couple separated by illness, respite care or prison. Add $639.60 a year for each child in your care. Effective 20 September 2025.

Do I need to be Age Pension age to get the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card?

Yes. You need to have reached Age Pension age, currently 67, and you can't already be receiving an income support payment such as the Age Pension — those payments carry their own concession card.

Does deemed income from my account-based pension count towards the limit?

Yes — deemed income from account-based pensions and annuities counts towards your annual gross taxable income for this test. Check Services Australia's deeming page for the current rates and thresholds rather than assuming a figure, and ask about a possible pre-2015 grandfathering exemption if both your pension and your card predate 1 January 2015.
