How does RDO accrual work?

On a standard 38-hour-week RDO system you work 8 ordinary hours a day but are paid for the 38-hour average of 7.6 hours. The 0.4-hour difference each day accrues toward a paid rostered day off. After 19 working days you've banked 7.6 hours — one full RDO. This is why it's called the '19-day month'.

How many days does it take to accrue an RDO?

At the standard rate of 0.4 hours per day, it takes 19 working days to bank one 7.6-hour RDO. If your daily hours are different, enter your ordinary and paid hours to see your own accrual rate.

What happens to my RDO balance when I leave?

Any RDO credit you've accrued but not taken is paid out to you when your employment ends, the same as unused leave.

What is a 9-day fortnight?

A 9-day fortnight is a variant of the RDO system where you work nine slightly longer days over a fortnight and take the tenth day off as a paid RDO. Enter your actual ordinary and paid hours per day to model it.
