Public sector pay scales 2026

Public servants are paid under enterprise agreements and state awards, not the modern awards that set most private-sector pay. Each page below reproduces the current salary table from the agreement or the government's own pay page, with the date each rate took effect, the next scheduled rise and a link to the source. APS pay rose 3.4% from 12 March 2026; CPI inflation was 4.0% in the 12 months to August 2026 (ABS).

Queensland public service (AO1–AO8) rates are not shown: the core State Government Entities Certified Agreement 2023 nominally expired on 30 June 2026 and its replacement is still being negotiated, according to the Queensland Government's update of 31 July 2026. Victorian government school teacher rates are also not shown while an in-principle replacement agreement, announced on 17 August 2026, goes to an employee vote. We add a scale only when its current table can be taken from a primary source.
