The current Woolworths agreement

Woolworths supermarket and fulfilment-centre team members are covered by the Woolworths Australian Food Group Agreement 2024. It commenced on 21 October 2024 and has a nominal expiry date of 17 April 2028, so it's the live agreement throughout 2026. It covers more than 130,000 employees.

The agreement was approved by the Fair Work Commission, and that approval was upheld: in August 2025 the Full Court of the Federal Court dismissed a challenge to it. It sits on top of the General Retail Industry Award (MA000004), which remains the floor.

How Woolworths agreement pay works

Like all enterprise agreements, the Woolworths agreement had to pass the Better Off Overall Test against the retail award — its base rates sit above the award minimum, with the agreement setting out the detailed penalty, loading and allowance structure.

For the current verified hourly rates by age and employment type, see our Woolworths pay rates 2026 page, and check the award floor with the retail award pay rate tool.

Key conditions the agreement sets

The agreement covers penalty rates for evenings, weekends and public holidays, casual loading, overtime, allowances, and rostering, breaks and leave arrangements for Woolworths-specific roles. The exact figures are in the approved agreement document on the public register.

To check a specific weekend or public-holiday shift, use our penalty rates calculator.

How to check your Woolworths pay is right

Match your payslip to your classification level in the agreement and to the award floor. If something looks off, run it through our underpayment checker — you can generally recover up to six years of any shortfall.

Where to read the Woolworths agreement

The full agreement is public on the Fair Work Commission's Find an Enterprise Agreement register (search "Woolworths Australian Food Group"). The SDA also hosts the agreement and a member summary. For how agreements work generally, see our guide to enterprise agreements in Australia.
