Hungry Jack's award

Hungry Jack's is covered by the Fast Food Industry Award (MA000003). Hungry Jack's operates a mix of corporate and franchise stores; the award applies in both.

Hungry Jack's adult rates

From 1 July 2025:

  • Level 1 (crew member): $24.95/hr permanent / $31.19/hr casual
  • Level 2 (cook, trainer): $25.40/hr / $31.75/hr
  • Level 3 (shift supervisor): $26.06/hr / $32.58/hr

Junior rates and progression

Same percentages as KFC under the same award:

  • Under 16: $9.98/hr (40%)
  • 16: $12.48/hr (50%)
  • 17: $14.97/hr (60%)
  • 18: $17.47/hr (70%)
  • 19: $19.96/hr (80%)
  • 20: $22.46/hr (90%)

Increases apply from the first pay period after the birthday — easy to miss, check your next payslip.

Penalty rates

Permanent adult Level 1:

  • Saturday: $31.19/hr (125%)
  • Sunday: $37.42/hr (150%)
  • Public holiday: $56.14/hr (225%)
  • 10pm-midnight: 110%
  • Midnight-6am: 115%

If you're at Hungry Jack's and pay looks wrong

Most issues are franchise-level rather than corporate. Check that:

  • Hourly rate matches the award figure for your age and level
  • Junior rate updated on time after birthday
  • Weekend penalties applied — Sunday should be 150%, not the same as a weekday
  • Late-night loadings paid (after 10pm)

If something's off, email the franchise owner with the math. If unresolved, contact the FWO on 13 13 94.
