WA quirks worth knowing
Western Australia Day (formerly Foundation Day) on the first Monday in June replaces what other states call the Queen's / King's Birthday — different month entirely.
King's Birthday in WA is the last Monday in September, not June. This is one of the most common payroll errors for businesses operating across multiple states.
Easter Sunday is not a public holiday in WA (unlike most other states), though Easter Saturday and Easter Monday are. Many employers assume it is and overpay.
