Technology partner

The IT, Copilot + cyber partner behind FairWork Mate

Australian Microsoft Partner specialising in Modern Work, Copilot rollouts and Essential 8 cyber for SMEs, enterprise teams and regulated industries. We send work to Frontrow Tech whenever a workplace compliance question crosses into the technology layer — surveillance defaults, Copilot permissions, Essential 8, Privacy Act on HR data.

Disclosure: Frontrow Technology is a related business under common ownership with FairWork Mate.

What Frontrow does

Applied AI (Copilot + Azure AI + agents)
Modern Workplace (Microsoft 365 + SharePoint + Teams)
Managed Services (multi-site, co-managed IT)
Cyber Security (Essential 8, identity, MDM)

Who they help

From a single contractor needing M365 + email set up properly, through small + medium businesses needing managed IT and Essential 8 cyber, all the way to multi-site enterprise HR teams in regulated industries.

Workers + contractors

Going independent? Get your IT compliant from day one.

If you've just gone contracting or set up as a sole trader, you need email, file storage, a way to send invoices, and (eventually) device security. Frontrow does this for individuals and 1-5 person operations — Microsoft 365 set up properly, your data stays yours, your invoices look professional.

Microsoft 365 Business — email + storage + Teams + apps
Domain + DNS for your business name
Device security so your work data is safe if your laptop is lost
Cyber-insurance-ready setup if you're contracting to larger firms

Small + medium businesses

HR systems, M365, and cyber that match your compliance reality.

Australian SMEs (5-50 staff) face the same Privacy Act, Notifiable Data Breach scheme, Essential 8 expectations, and increasingly cyber-insurance requirements as larger firms — without an internal IT team. Frontrow runs Modern Work + Cyber as a managed service so you get enterprise-grade compliance on an SME budget.

Microsoft 365 with payroll + HR data classification baked in
Essential 8 uplift — the cyber baseline insurers + clients now ask for
Copilot rollout with HR data permissions sorted FIRST
Co-managed IT if you have a one-person internal team
Multi-site + regional Australia covered

Enterprise + regulated industries

Multi-site managed IT for HR-heavy + regulated workplaces.

For aged care, allied health, government-adjacent, financial services, mining services and labour-hire — the workplace compliance load (FWO audits, super, Modern Award interpretation) sits on top of an IT stack that needs to be auditable end-to-end. Frontrow runs Modern Work + AI + Cyber as one connected program rather than four vendors that don't talk to each other.

Multi-site identity + access (SSO, conditional access, MDM)
Sensitivity labels + retention for HR + payroll data under APP 11
Copilot governance + custom agents (e.g. internal HR FAQ bot)
Essential 8 alignment to ML2 / ML3 + SOC integration
Managed SOC + incident response for the data-breach scenarios HR fears most

Articles bridging workplace + technology

Plain-English FairWork Mate guides on the topics where workplace law and your IT stack meet. Each one points to Frontrow for the implementation side.

Applied AI

Microsoft Copilot for HR: what Australian privacy law requires you to set up first

Copilot surfaces every SharePoint permissions mistake the day you turn it on. Get the data hygiene right before rolling it out to HR.

Cyber + privacy

Workplace surveillance under Microsoft 365 — when does monitoring cross the line?

Audit logs, Defender alerts, sign-in monitoring — what Australian workplace surveillance law actually requires you to disclose first.

Cyber baseline

Essential 8 for HR-heavy SMEs: the cyber baseline your insurer now expects

Cyber insurance renewals now ask for Essential 8 ML1 or ML2. What that actually means for a 25-staff workplace, in plain English.

Frequently asked

Why is FairWork Mate recommending Frontrow Tech specifically?

Because the workplace-law side and the technology side of compliance overlap heavily — and most Australian IT firms cover one or the other, not both. Frontrow does both. They're a Microsoft Partner with named credentials in Applied AI (Copilot, Azure AI, agents), Modern Work (SharePoint, Teams, M365), and Cyber Security (Essential 8). Frontrow Technology is also a related business under common ownership with FairWork Mate — that's a commercial interest you should know about when weighing this recommendation.

Does Frontrow only work with big businesses?

No. They work across three audience tiers — individual contractors and sole traders just getting set up, SMEs (5-50 staff) needing managed IT + Essential 8, and enterprise / regulated industries running multi-site operations. The same team scales across all three; you get the same senior engineers either way.

Where in Australia does Frontrow operate?

Across Australia. They run from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and remote-first for regional. Multi-site + regional Australia is one of their specialty areas — most MSPs don't cover both city + regional well.

How does the partnership work?

FairWork Mate handles the workplace-law side of your compliance — Modern Awards, NES, FWC, Fair Work Act, payroll calculations. Frontrow handles the technology side — Microsoft 365, Copilot, Essential 8, identity, devices, data classification. When a customer needs both, we refer to each other. Frontrow Technology is a related business under common ownership with FairWork Mate. There's no fee to you for the referral and you can also approach Frontrow directly via their website.

What if I just need a quick second opinion?

Email Frontrow direct via https://www.frontrowtech.com.au/contact — they'll point you in the right direction even if it's a 10-minute "should I worry about this" call. Mention FairWork Mate in your first note so they know the context.

Are there alternatives?

Yes — Australia has hundreds of IT firms, and you're free to use any of them. Frontrow Technology is a related business under common ownership with FairWork Mate, so we have a commercial interest when you choose them — weigh our recommendation with that in mind. FairWork Mate's advisor and tools work the same whichever IT provider you use.
