How much is Family Tax Benefit Part A?

The maximum FTB Part A rate is $235.48 per fortnight per child aged 0–12, and $306.46 per fortnight per child aged 13–19. The base rate (minimum before Part A stops entirely) is $75.60 per child per fortnight. Rates reduce as family income increases above $69,131 per year.

How much is Family Tax Benefit Part B?

FTB Part B is $200.34 per fortnight if your youngest child is under 5, or $139.86 if your youngest child is 5–18. Part B is paid per family (not per child). Single parents receive the full amount regardless of income. For couples, Part B is income tested on the secondary earner.

What is the FTB income test?

FTB Part A uses two income tests. Test 1: above $69,131 family income, Part A reduces by 20 cents per dollar until it reaches the base rate. Test 2: above $123,078, the base rate reduces by 30 cents per dollar. You receive the higher amount from the two tests. Part B for couples is reduced when the secondary earner earns above $7,154 per year.
